The New Division

Prepare to see a lot of this:

No TV stations deem the Sens relevant enough to show their preseason game tonight so it appears we have a little more time to prepare. :sarcasm

He won't be a bottom pair guy though. He was very capable bottom pairing guy as a 20 year old.

Expect him to play on the 2nd pairing now and PK.

You're paying based on hope, not results.

This contract overpayment just makes his next deal even bigger. Enjoy paying him 5M when he develops into that super elite middle pair guy.

Surely I just didn't read this.

Tyler Myers had his best season as a 20 yr old. He's pretty big too from what I've been told.

Chara was so ****ing big that his skating was turrible when he first entered the league, that's what changed. He grew into his size. Cowen is much smaller than Chara was, and much better filled out at a young age than Chara was.

Can't ****ing believe I just read that.
I can't believe I just read that. You talk as if you have some special insight to the two players bodies. What a joke of a response.

Karlsson is a perennial ppg defender, and Cowen will develop into an offensively threat late because Chara did.

You never get tired of expecting 1st ballot HOF careers for your players, do you?

There is a gap between a bust and Chara. Just so you know. I didn't say he would become Chara, I was pointing out that quitting on that type of player at 20 years old (ie, huge) is dumb.

I've also never said Karlsson would be a perennial PPG player, you twit. Never.

You did say he was the next Paul Coffey though (13 straight PPG+ seasons...)
Make an inference all you want about point totals - but I never said he would be a perennial PPG defenseman.

The comparison to Coffey was because I think he'll be one of the best, if not the best offensive defenseman for the next 10 years.

And you did this by comparing him to a completely 1 of a kind player in hockey history, congrats.

You've insinuated it.

On the Sens blueline, they have one of the greatest offensive dmen in history (Karlsson), the best shutdown dman in the league (Methot), the best young shutdown dman destined to be a 1st pairing monster and a great vet shutdown dman in Phillips.

Stanley Cup?

You're 2 for 4 in your statements. But isn't The Hockey News predicting the Sens to win the Cup this season?

Also they have so much amazing depth up front that the next Claude Giroux is gonna start the season in Binghamton. They're THAT good.

If a bunch of posters are independently high on particular players, you can't piece it together like that.

I think only one of those things will prove to be true.

I have literally never said that Karlsson would be a perennial PPG defenseman and a 1st ballot HHOF'er. Not once.

Yet you've throw it around like it's a quote. Lame city.

You've said the same through various comparisons and annual expectations of his performance in comparison with his peers. Has a defender ever finished top 3 in defensive scoring for an entire decade in NHL history?

The issue here isn't me, it's that you clearly don't grasp the gravity of the statements you're throwing around. I'm repackaging those same statements to make it fit into the reality the rest of us live in, and you don't like how foolish it makes you look.
