The New Division

That couldn't keep up in the NHL. Shaun Van Allen was also a dominant AHL player.

The similarities between Pageau and Giroux are almost eerie.

- Both smaller guys
- Both are from Ottawa
- Both played for the Gatineau Olympiques

Maybe he'll be closer to Briere as he is a Center, and a pretty good one at that.

He has all but made the team.

Giroux isn't from Ottawa, he's from Hearst, which is west of Kapuskasking. That's the equivalent of claiming that someone from Windsor is from Toronto.

You may have said already, and i simply missed it......but in your opinion which NHL'er past or present, do you feel Pageau is (a) most comparable to, and (b) his career trajectory is most likely to mimic?

I'd say someone like Bergeron. His offence probably isn't going to be as high end as Giroux. But he's a far more complete player than Briere, who was all offence at the same age.

So now not only is Pageau's ceiling that of one of the best centres in the league, but also arguably the top two-way forward in the game, both of whom are either Olympians or certain to be.

You guys can't ever criticise another fanbases' player critiquing abilities after the T-1000 debacle and comparisons to the Islanders Dynasty.

Now you're doing it with a marginal prospect and #4 defenceman.

Well he has been so amazingly awesome and wicked in camp the mediots are saying he's probably made the team.

He's just too good to send down.

If I had to guess a top end for pageau, I'd say 20 goals, 50-55 pts in a 2-way role with significant PK time and key faceoff time.

we are so much richer for having your always accurate predictions.

now if only we could have a pageau comparison from the Isles' dynasty, we would be complete.
