Brackett is pretty much a direct replacement for Derek Clancey (AGM Player Personnel), but I wonder what this means for Dave Morrison, the erstwhile Senior Advisor, Player Personnel.

And I guess Brackett will have a say in the futures of Leach (Director Amateur Scouting) and Reid Mitchell (Director Hockey and Scouting Ops).


what was Pridham's actual job title anyways?
 
From the sounds of it chief of staff isn’t an AGM position but a management position that is tasked with ensuring there is coordination among the departments so the GM doesn’t have to. It’s common in the NFL.
 
They can still use a jew lawyer AGM to round out the management team.

Like if the leafs got the semifinals at any point playing like that I'd be embarrassed. That's nothing to be proud of, I don't care how young and cute the team is. There are other way better reasons to be proud of that group.

Pridham was a big contributor and often took the lead on trade and contract negotiations, in addition to being the capologist. I don't think Freddy has the same skill set and I don't think that's what he was hired to do. He does have an MBA from yale tho and has some private equity experience so he's not some generic hockey guy, which is cool.

Habs played super shit vs Canes but full marks for winning two rounds to get to the embarrassment stage.

LeafFan cope of "sure we choked a bunch of times but at least we never went far enough to get embarrassed" is what I find cute.

I don't really consider the Leafs when I evaluate that Habs run. It's everyone else that brings them up. I look at the run in isolation and to me it was embarrassing and hard to watch. I don't care what their logo says, that's just what I saw. The cheerleading is weird and almost feels condescending at times. "Good job! You almost didn't embarrass yourselves! The future is bright!"

tbh I think Chayka is likely to be more hands-on with the trade and contract negoations and the capology so probably doesn't need the same kind of second hand man as Brad did.

but maybe he hires someone as AGM anyways.

maybe not you but there's lots of LeafFans on X, interpreting the Habs run through the prism of Leaf goggles.

HabsFan cope is to repeat the “yeah well they won two rounds SO THERE” while glossing over the fact that any of the Florida or Tampa teams the Leafs lost to in previous years would have prolapsed the Habs harder than the Canes did.

there is no cope. Habs exceeded expectations. Leafs should try that one of these decades. It makes cope unnecessary.
