I don't think our goaltending depth is worth much in the trade market though. We turned the most valuable of the 4 into a 5'9 #5 defender with great nerdies.

It could be because he has a vet whose health he can’t rely on and two untested kids behind him. If you’re serious about competing, that’s a very unstable situation. And if you can find a reasonable alternative for free who will provide more security back there, and trade Stolarz for more assets before another year of constant injuries makes him worthless and untradeable for the rest of his extension.

This is a reasonable point. But both Hildeby and Arty looked good this year, and they're not crazy young. The odds of all 3 of them sucking is fairly slim. Even if you want to bring someone in, the answer is almost certainly not Bobrovsky.

Bob in a mentor role for $4m for 1-2 years would be just fine, but apparently he’s not interested in that sort of thing. Don’t think he’s going to find what he wants though, so what he does then will be interesting.
