We've seen better, younger wingers move for just like a couple of picks (2nd and 4th). I'm willing to put a pick and/or prospect on the deal, like I said. And we're absorbing $3.25M. Sure, maybe there are teams that will take the whole salary and not give anything back but a pick or two, and maybe that would be preferable for them. But you gotta get in there and see what's possible. This is one of those desperation moments that you need to pounce on, where bad deals might be possible.

I personally wouldn't be too horny for him. But I think he'll cost more than his actual worth. And Joshua will cost less than his worth. Just keep Joshua. You wouldn't get kreider for him anyway.

Sounds like either Mo or the Leafs approached the other about a trade, then no one wanted him unless the Leafs gave up value to take on the contract.
 
Yeah he also said San Jose was sort of interested, but always preferred Nurse. Beyond that, not much interest out there. So you'd think that means the leaks would stop and he'll be staying in Toronto but they keep pushing them.

Elliotte did say that the Knies stuff is pretty much dead for now tho.
 
Giroux doesn’t score goals anymore according to zekes stats, but he is still a high end player driver in tough minutes 5 v5, and PP2 playmaker. He’s a good fit for what they want to do.
 
Giroux's scoring rates were horse shit in 2024-2025 but has a resurgence last year where he was legit good. But under the hood you can see that his on-ice shooting percentage was brutal in 24-25 and ridiculous in 25-26. So he's probably somewhere in between those two years.

Though last year was more lucky than the prior year was unlucky. He'll probably be a shittier, older Maccelli offensively at 5 on 5, which is fine. At least he's skilled. Is he still good defensively? I think he is, and that's probably where most of his value would be. Good defensively, plays all situations, another great faceoff guy. Gudpro
