The official NFL thread

To add to the “problems with fantasy football”:
Overthinking
I drank the koolaid about sky Moore (Kelce out blah blah blah)and started him instead of Brandon Cooks in my flex position( not FI league)…
So for those of you that are gamblers, you can be rest assured Cooks is having a big game Sunday night.

As long as we beat the Giants, it can be a 200 yard 3TD game for Jalen Tolbert for all I care. :)

I do think there's a lot of luck involved... but I'll also say the same guys are at the top of my league for the last decade and the same guys are at the bottom.

I'm not entirely sure that's because of football knowledge though, think there's some cleverness/strategy (and of course luck too).

Yeah I don’t think there’s that much luck (other than maybe health) attached to finishing high in the standings…..but bad luck takes you out at the knees much easier in football than any other.

Should be mentioned that baseball also benefits from having the largest active roster every week, across fantasy, as well as the largest player pool.….having 19+ players accumulating points provides you lots of opportunities to patch over the loss of a star player.

and while i cant prove this, i feel like there are more opportunities for mediocre or bad players to run hot and offset bad luck from injuries/slumps in MLB or NHL that you can survive on the wire, but in the NFL a deep roster and league, most savvy owners will stash RB/QB 3/4 deep and make it really hard to replace/supplant stuggling or injured players.

Yeah without a doubt, you can run a normally shit player for weeks sometimes when they’re on a heater.

Plus you can also stream shit pitchers with starts against even worse teams, and get pretty solid results overall.

I think we are something like an 11-1 streak against the giants…
but I agree….
Just win baby!!
I don't think it'll be all that competitive, honestly.

I'm at a point where the stats don't matter to me, the regular season record (sort of) doesn't matter to me, I just want them to go on a real playoff run for the first time in my life that I can actually remember.

Vikings not impressing CH1

They’re a middling team (over/under is 8.5) but I think they generally look great today but too many preseason mistakes which is not surprising because they’re one of those teams that give their starters zero pre season snaps
