TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Tavares isn't the problem, he is everything that was promoted.
When Matthews has the most hits on the team (playoffs) then that is a problem. I love the fact that he will get physical but you should have others on the team that can help out in this area. Hell, even Marner gets his stupid face into the dirty areas at times. Tavares goes into the dirty areas alot as does Bunting. Nylander seems to escape most criticism, yet hasn't changed his play or efforts since coming up to the team. Engvall is a waste as is Simmonds (and I have always advocated for his presence on the team .... Until they finally got him ...to late) lol.
Time to blow up line three and four.
Put your Robertson's and knies, Stevens and others on your forth line with someone like Spezza ( maybe a Getzlaf type player who can move up when needed).
And the third line ..... Keep it a checking, take your head off going to the net type on line. Something that makes the opp defence look around and be wary. As of this moment and all the other playoffs of the past 6 years, the leafs haven't had that type of player or players.
What about a Josh Anderson?
And what does the others think the leafs could honestly get in return for a Nylander and even a Bunting? I know .... Wtf is this guy even talking about ... Trading Bunting!
But Bunting is a free agent after this season isn't he? Is he going to be worth the capital to keep or was he a one off and last season was a fluke? If they think he is a flash in the pan, man would he help to obtain a number one damn that can do it all, or a Josh Anderson or Tom Wilson type player who could make the leafs deadly and painful.to play.

Btw .... Goalies are weird and as others say, voodooish.
But I also think that the defensive schemes the team uses are also a direct indicator of the goalie stats.
I believe the leafs play a style that makes it more difficult for the goaltenders than other teams with better defensive stats hold.
 
You don’t trade a Bunting if he can give you 50-60 points for $900k. You enjoy it and then just hope you can keep it somehow
 
For one more year and then you have some big contracts coming up.
This is the time to maybe capitalize before losing something for nothing.
 
Losing something for nothing is the model. Find cheap & productive players, and then replace them when they become expensive & productive players.

the only reasons to trade Bunting now is that someone was willing to overpay in good, cheap players with more control or if you're sending him as part of a package to land a core player.

Nah, all his hair is presumably that gray color, just look at his sideburns and that streak.

I don't think the rest of it managed to remain nice and dark.
