Are they seriously keeping Simmonds and Cliffy around, or are they waiver wire fodder before the opener?

Pretty confident that they’ll put Clifford through waivers.

I’d be surprised if they waived Simmonds though. Management seems to have an inordinate amount of respect for him.

I saw he retires and he becomes the black player spokesman for the leafs and nhl. I like it. Keeps his getting paid and he retires

Many disagreed with me but Muzzin should have been moved. It was very smart Tampa moving from Mcdonagh. Leafs needed to do that.
I don't buy we need him to have more success in the playoffs at all. If he struggles again with injuries moving him only becomes tougher.

TB was ruthless with RM , love you bro but you gotta go regardless of your NTC

You better have a good plan B if you are trading Muzzin though. Sandin is the next in line but I dont know if I would trust him with that role just yet

What is the reason we didn’t re-sign Campbell? I know we didn’t have cap room but couldn’t Dubas had made some space?

I think that was the play though. Identify a replacement in the off season, spend the assets on them and pull the trigger on the muzzin deal.

Not trading Muzzin and Kerfoot was idiotic IMO. Really starting to sour on Dubas

I agree with all the people who argue about how valuable Muzzin has been to this team.

I just question whether that’s still the version of Jake Muzzin we still have here and now. And whether it’s a reasonable expectation for him to be healthy and effective come playoff time, and stay that way through a playoff run.

No argument from me but the McDonagh return was not what I would want to see if they did deal him. Conkies aside, I want legit assets if you are moving him because he still plays big minutes when healthy

I don't think they were in a position to move for space only and spend assets more on a replacement at the moment
