And I know you are not silly enough to think that A) Anyone is better than RB, and B) fresh start can mean better production. Oh... and Briere seems to be entrenched now with Pleks and Gio, so not really a 3rd liner.

Ales Hemsky is an overpaid winger that play a perimeter game. He's Rene Bourque.
Dustin Penner is a slow aging-veteran, a bigger and slower Daniel Briere.

And since when a player traded to Montreal is having a better production when he arrives? haha!

Hemsky has a contract that expires this year so $ is not an issue, especially with 20 games left.
I would take a bigger Danny Briere over snack size Briere, wouldn't you?

At the end of the day, I just want something... for once.
 
The Sabres have acquired Nicolas Deslauriers & Hudson Fasching from the Kings for Brayden McNabb, Jonathan Parker & draft picks.

Wanting something out of nothing isn't improving.
Hemsky is an injury-prone, aging, not efficient vet. Penner couldn't produce with Perry and Getzlaf, so I wonder what he can do with Plekanec and Gionta...

Yes it would be fun to get bigger, but not talent-less.
 
We need that 3rd and 4th (gotta pay more because ottawas picks will be better) for vanek :p

I am not suggesting these are long term solutions by any means. But we have 60 games of Briere proving he is not a good fit, and ANYTHING is better than Bourque.

Hemsky is not better. If he was, he would have fetch way better than two picks from the Sens.
