So much is always made of cap space but every year contenders just add and add and add whoever they want regardless. There’s always ways.

If anything the flattish covid cap restraints has incentivized GMs and their calculator friends to be more creative than I have ever seen.

The whole idea of teams (particularly those in the playoff race) adding significant players with less than 20 games left in the season kind of makes the regular season somewhat pointless.

If they made the trade deadline a lot earlier, and therefore, harder to maneuver the cap, it would make things more consistent.

I know thats never going to change though
