In waiver action to clear the space for these deadline moves...all three guys from yesterday on waivers were claimed. The Preds claimed Vrana and Oesterle, and the Jackets claimed Fischer.

Ryan Reaves is on waivers today...and Riley Stillman is also on waivers.

Stillman is probably on waivers so he can play in the AHL. Their roster freeze is at 3pm tomorrow, they have to be on an AHL roster at 3 in order to play at any point the rest of the season, including the playoffs,

Panthers make a goalie trade sending Chris Driedger to the Jets for Kappo Kahkonen, who has spent most of the year in the minors and I imagine that he’ll be the starter in Charlotte, which is where Driedger was headed after the Panthers traded for Vanacek yesterday

The Rangers retained 50% of Smith’s salary . Then they flipped that 3rd round pick to Vancouver for dman Carson Soucy.

Brock Nelson and William Dufour to the Avalanche for Calum Ritchie, Oliver Kylington, a 2026 or 2027 first round pick, and a 2028 conditional third round pick. Islanders retain 50% of the Nelson cap hit.

Kylington spent a few precious moments as an Islander before being swiftly dealt to the Ducks for future considerations.
