The D is a little weak, but the forward group would be up there with any current team out there.

Some of that stuff was traded for each other (Carter/Voracek, Gaborik/Brassard), but still thats a lot of talent.

The Carter trade was so stupid. They didn't even look into whether he wanted to be there. He went missing the second the trade was announced. And then they sign Horton with no insurance and are 30th in revenue.
Just a horribly run organization. I'm not so quick to believe winning the draft would mean they'll be good.
Oh and Doug Maclean was their GM for years.

Lamoriello's been trying to trade the pending UFA's (surprise, surprise), but he's also been shopping two players with term remaining: Daniel Winnik & Jonathan Bernier.

If they can find a taker for Bernier it will be interesting to see what they do with the Goaltending position next season. Lou knows the value of top goaltending for a franchise to be successful both short and long term.

It would be awesome if the Leafs trade Winnik for a second rounder again and then sign him as a UFA for a third time in 2017.
