Which lottery outcome do you prefer? and why?

  • Leafs get their pick this year, unprotected for 2 following years

  • Leafs lose their pick to Boston, next year's Flyer pick is top 10 protected

    Votes: 2 13.3%

And I mean.. If the Leafs keep their pick, there is a ~41% chance it's top 2 and ~58% it's 5th. Likelihood of pick #5 is not as set in stone as it may appear...

So what are the conditions here? Are we turning down the top 2 pick too or only if they get pick #5 (which has only a 24.5% chance of happening)?

Don’t you want to keep your pick regardless? Isn’t that why you stayed up past your bedtime to watch Kraken games?
 
Keeping the top 5 pick is the correct answer. We also have a first-rounder, via the Avs, for next year.
The first two round picks can change things quickly.
