Nah we don't know but I can't help get the feeling that him going to Columbus at this time screwed us over a bit when it comes to contacts with both agents and other gm's.Meh. Who knows. But we haven’t really lost anyone we weren’t expecting to lose. Especially after bowing out early again in the playoffs. You can’t bring everyone back and make significant changes. If they overpay for Guentzel and Skeji and Turbo and Pesce they not only lose cap space but where then can you make significant changes?
I liked Guentzel but he didn’t want to sign here. We need more ass in the top 6. If 2/6 are Aho and Jarvis then Guentzel and Turbo mean you can’t get physically stronger there. Now we can adjust things. Might take some time.
God yes. This team was probably one year overdue for a kick in the butt roster-wise. I was never counting on Guentzel like you guys, and the only one I'm really missing is Skjei ... and it's EARLY days yet.Maybe but of all the guys we lost who did we really want to keep - Skeij and Guentzel. It’s a big outflow but we needed that.
Ya, I mean I like the player in general. I'm not sure it'll shake out this way but the "Dom" tweeted that Carrier-Staal-Martinook would be the most Canes line ever. For the record I like Carrier. Big motor forechecker who should fit in very well.
He's right. Or Jost on that wing. Same difference.Ya, I mean I like the player in general. I'm not sure it'll shake out this way but the "Dom" tweeted that Carrier-Staal-Martinook would be the most Canes line ever.
Skjei and Guentzel went to teams in states with no state income tax. I haven‘t seen how Skjei’s contract is structured, but 84% of Guentzel’s was signing bonus. That’s a huge difference.Ya, I mean I like the player in general. I'm not sure it'll shake out this way but the "Dom" tweeted that Carrier-Staal-Martinook would be the most Canes line ever.
this is spot on. Except I won’t miss Turbo. As a fan I'll miss Turbo and Noesen, but as a guy who wants to win a cup only Skjei hurts and even that isn't an OMG thing for me - he was never as good with anyone as he was Pesce.
It's <4 hours into free agency, they'll find the right guys even if they aren't big names.
Yup ... although that's also driven by extremely online trad-market fans just being lunaticsLike Dundon being cheap
NC should get rid of income taxes so our sports teams can be better. The added tourism and other dollars from improved teams will more than offset the lost tax revenue. That’s just sound fiscal policy. I read it somewhere.Between the bitching about tax differences and talking about Tulsky being a total failure this is the only readable site.
When a player only averages 21 points per 82 games, it’s not hard to do.Twice as many penalty minutes as career points. Is he a tough guy? Or just penalty prone?
