OT: Movies/TV Shows

Didn't think about Fassbender, he would be almost ideal. though I'm not sure I can picture him taking the role .

Bond is shit.

There I said it.
Hey. Connery's Bond films were THE shit, not "shit". But since then, they've definitely been a lot more miss than hit.

Even Craig, who I like as Bond, is only 1/3 IMO. I really liked Casino Royale, thought Quantum of Solace was shit, and then Skyfall was just mediocre.

Couldn't disagree more with you regarding Skyfall. For me it's easily top five in the franchise and has a compelling case to be up there with Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, and Casino Royale as the best entry in the series.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is also criminally underrated, with a quality performance from the unheralded Lazenby.

Wasn't there talk of Jude Law, years ago?...Is he too old now?

I think the problem with Jude Law is that he's too frail and not really physically imposing enough to be Bond. The actor portraying him doesn't have to be ripped, but they should be a fit, strong guy who can handle themselves, and Law gives off kind of a feminine vibe IMO.

Skyfall was a nice popcorn action flick, but I thought the overall story and the villain were pretty weak.

But the other films you've named are my favourites too (though I'd add Goldeneye to that list). And although Timothy Dalton isn't a popular Bond, I really liked "License to Kill". I also share your antipathy for Roger Moore. I thought his Bond movies were pretty much uniformly cheesy and bad. As for "On her Majesty's Secret Service", I didn't like it when I watched it, but I've only seen once (and that was when I was a kid). I'll have to give it a re-watch one of these days.

Tomorrow Never Dies....easy worst Bond movie.

" I want to control the News".....err...okay.

Or the one that had to do with Bolivian water supply or some shit. Might have been drunk when i saw that.

Yep, that was "Quantum of Solace".

The big, central evil scheme of the movie boiled down to: if James Bond failed to stop the villain, Bolivian drinking water would be more expensive.

Elliot Carver is easily one of the worst Bond villains.

GoldenEye is a great entry in the series and the only film where Brosnan was actually given a semi-respectable screenplay to work with (the other three were complete messes for various reasons), but the film's music and soundtrack is just atrocious.

For me, the music in that film is in the bottom quarter of all Bond entries. I would actually love for the actual film to stay identical and have a modern score created for it, because I feel like it would make the film work so much more.
