Leafs acquire Frederik Anderson from Ducks

Burch Andersen has a very good HD SV%, which is the key distinguishing feature of a starting goalie.

Andersen was also 6th in the NHL since 2010, in adjusted fenwick SV%.

reimer was leading the leaghe in HD SV% - by far - for most of this year at least as of last time I checked.

get the f*ck out of here with this reimer bullshit.

F*cking guy killing the Andersen buzz. Get over it.

I'm stoked. I trust Lou and co to find our goalie. Looks like they have.

oof that's gross.

Might as well have played a play for Fleury or Crawford if you are going to pay Andersen in the range of Fleury and Crawford.

You are assuming these two will be available and that their price will be low. Even those suggesting Bishop have no idea what TB would want/if they would even want to move him. All assumptions.

Well, to be fair though, and I love Reimer but fact is Reimer can't stay healthy, and most probably will never stay healthy enough to be a #1 goalie in this league.

I think we paid a steep price, but if Lou & Co is so sure about him, I hope they're right and I'm wrong.

Cause if Andersen doesn't work out as a #1 though, that 5 yrs / $25-27M contract is gonna be VERY TOUGH to dump down the road.

AAV for Andersen's five-year deal in TOR should be in the low to mid $5M range, that is $5.5M or a little less than that.

Sure, but given their teams can't protect them in the expansion draft next year you'd have to assume they will be moved.

Hawks are still cap ****ed, i'm sure Crow is out there.

And while Rutherford is okay with rolling into next year with Murray/MAF i'm sure he'd deal MAF for a reasonable price 1 year prior to expansion.

I agree that this is the sort of move that has blown up in our faces before...but we have to trust our new group of scouts here.

I just HATE throwing a long term contract at a goalie before he's proved that he's a #1 in this league.

We did that to Raycroft, did that to Vesa, and it backfired on us both times.
