Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

Almost always you see a guy go for the 2nd toe drag after the first one but he goes backhand and changes direction instead. Damn that's pretty.

His even strength numbers aren't the greatest and neither are his advanced stats but it's really hard to argue with that sort of production. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Ok, truthfully, if someone can take off their blue tinted glasses, how good are sandin and lilly, and where do they project to be in the NHL.

Can sandin be as good as reilly, or can lilly be that smooth transition, good coverage dman?

Is bracco fast enough to operate in the nhl.
If bracco can keep up in the nhl, put him on Matthew's line.

So maybe instead of paying for another dman with his qualities, bring him up and give him the season to prepare for the playoff next year.
But I still think either a PK or a nurse would be an excellent addition.

PK yes, Nurse no.

Nurse would be at best our 3rd best left shot defender, and could easily end up our 5th best within a few years.

Trevor Moore has been sent back to the Marlies for the remainder of their playoff run. He'll join Calle Rosen as the two players sent down from the Leafs.

With the additions of those guys and with them actually getting good goaltending, the Marlies might be able to make another serious run this year.

who is in net for the Marlies? I know Hutch was up with the big team... did he go back down?

So Dubas was in charge/co-in charge of two drafts. Here are the 1st/2nd round picks from those drafts.

2015: Marner, Dermott, Bracco,
2018: Sandin, Durzi (traded for Muzzin)

Thats pretty good.

He's Morgan Rielly to Lilly's Jake Gardiner.

though Rielly had 4pts in 22gms in the AHL at 18.

and Sandin doesn't have the benefit of Rielly's uber elite skating. His offense comes purely from brain and hands.

i'm starting to wonder if we might have a keith/giordano/suter type here.

we used to have guys that traded up to get Schenns and Biggses, and now we have a guy who trades down to get Sandins.

Suter was my comparison the first time I watched him. I think it's a good one. And entirely realistic now after this season.
