It’s one thing to believe that, all evidence to the contrary. It’s quite another to put dump trucks full of money & term where your mouth is.

Honestly, I think Montreal’s only way out of that deal is if and when Price decides he’s ready to call it quits and gets put on LTIR.
hey you say that, but look at all the following hilaribad contracts that were deemed "untradeable" only to be... traded!

1. Clarkson, D
2. Horton, N (post career ending injury)
3. Savard, M (post career ending injury)
4. Weber, S
5. Phaneuf, D

logic agrees with your position, but I've learned that you can never assume logic applies in any situation where gudpros and hockey execs are present.

Kevin McGran. And people wonder why we complain about the media and talking asses we are stuck with in the alleged centre of the hockey universe.

Unbelievable.

McGran is definitely right up (down?) there with Steve Simmons as one of dumbest Leaf reporters left employed in the city.

He’s also very much from the Simmons/Strachan/Berger school of reporting, where it’s obvious he loathes the team he covers and its fans.

5V5 lines with their Special Teams duties:

PP1 - PP1 - PP1
PK1 - PP2 - PP2
PK2 - PK1 - PK2
PP1 - PP2 - PP2

PP2 - PK2
PK1 - PK1
PP1 - PK2

Looks like kind of a perfect distribution of Special Teams duties with one spot each for each skater.

With the caveat that Hyman-Marner is likely PK3, which usually gets regular PK shifts.

That's really my opinion. I'm not sure media has said that much. And will Josh Anderson be tradeable? We'll see. Gallgher's year 1 extension occurs at age 29.

Josh Anderson is a power forward type that half of the league's GMs overrate. So he's tradeable unless those teams all fire their Marc Bergevins.

The other guys Bergevin went "all in" this summer are Jake Allen, Tyler Tof, and Joel "the plus minus king" Edmundson.

like I said, bs narrative.

I'm fucking pumped for tommorow's game! Leafs need to come out smashing every Habs player in sight for the first 5 mins, set the tone early and often. Montreal's going to be ready, we have to out-intensify them, do that, and I like our odds of winning Game 1.
Why would you want the Leafs to play a style that would benefit the Habs more? I hope they do this and don't use their skill instead.
