I love geeking out over zeke regret stats... four more months till puck drop. it sounds like a lot but it goes by fast
 
Sometimes it's as simple as 0-2 in games 6 and 7 to say you didn't get it done. This is a yearly thing for this group. And we won't get these years back. 0-6 in playoff series. 0-9 in potential clinching games since 2018.

I mean, they kinda did. Matthews had 9 points, Mucho had 8. 5 goals in 7 games between them.

It wasn't enough, but they showed up. I think leafman put it best - they just didn't enter beast mode.

It's true really. Our job as fans is to babble incoherently and rage and vent all we want about blowing it up. The logical, patient approach is probably the right one for management, but we're not being paid to control our emotions. So we really shouldn't be so easy on them. Fuck you zeke.

I hate to say it, but the difference in the series almost seems to have come down to prestoluck. two really fucking good, evenly matched teams duking it out. fitting that the series was decided on a goal that came about from a bit of a bouncing puck and a seemingly nothing play. Tampa got one more damn break than us.

with an assist to some poorly timed shit officiating, but I'm not gonna go full zeke and blame them.

tough to blame Jack for game 6 or 7 either.

the big boys showed up, even if they didn't dominate.

I was a little disappointed in the effort in game 7 overall, but it's not like they were whupped or badly outplayed or anything. I dunno.
