nevertheless if the starting point here is 4.5, that's a fair bit lower than I thought after co-leading the playoffs in goalscoring.

another player around that price range might be Trochek, and the prospect of adding a strong centre to this team is appetizing. allows you to move JT to wing or create 3 legit scoring lines by putting all of Matthews Marner and Willy on separate lines.

actually, yeah. there's something to be said for being able to avoid those coin flip games by dominating enough of the time to win it earlier.

of note, the Leafs rarely have been a good enough team to do this. I think they swept the sens one of those times in the early 2000s, but there haven't been too many quick ones that I recall. they all seem to go 6 or 7 with this team.

Yep. Biggest mistake with thinking only late series games "matter" is that you're allowed to win in 4 or 5 games too.

First day of the UFA season is Wednesday July 13.

Today is Monday July 11.

So far this offseason, the Leafs have managed to unload their one bad contract for not much penalty.

The amount of disappointment people feel about our off-season so far is probably directly proportional to the amount of time they wasted watching the draft and hoping for some fireworks from the Leafs.

Because yeah, the off-season hasn’t even really started yet.

You guys are myopic because of needs. Goalie market isn't great this year. I'd imagine more movement if more was available.
