The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

Don't do it, it'll just get turned even more juvenile and regurgitated back at you at some point in the near future.

Didn't his goalie coach turn out to be a nazi or something?

Yep. Dusty Imoo. Hired to be the Marlies goalie coach and then turned out his social media was littered with racist, homophobic, anti-vaxx and pro-Trump shit that would’ve come up had they even done a cursory Google search before hiring.

And Dubie didn’t even face the music on that one. Shanahan was the guy to come out and announce the organization wouldn’t be hiring after all the dirty laundry aired.

we were dead last under Babcock, and he never had a single season here with a xGF% as good as Dubas & Keefe’s reign.

what are you even talking about.

again….just keep ignoring what Dubas’ team did, the second the team he build had the coach he wanted. So goofy.

Literally no impact whatsoever moving from Lou to Dubas.

Instant impact upon hiring Keefe.

But you love Dubas and hate Keefe.

goofy.

somehow i think "respect amongst his peers" is the most important factor for Shanny here.

I don't think its a secret that Dubas is viewed as pompus among the OBC. If this makes a difference in a teams willingness to have a negotiate remains to be seen

What I'm hoping is that there's pretty much zero other front office personnel moves. See what Treliving can do with this same personnel.

in terms of on-ice stuff, priorities:

1. ditch Murray
2. make a couple quality UFA signings
3. re-sign matthews and nylander

Unfortunately i don't think your team is that far away and you could get a Russian stud falling to you in this draft.
They're dumb enough to not take him. Something about Montreal and Russians since the Kostitsyns and Kovalev. They just don't draft many of them, especially in the first round.

Looking at Brad's history, I think he's good at the "knows talent" part of the job, but iffy on the "knows how to price talent properly" part of the job. Both are crucial unfortunately. I like most of those guys he signed in calgary but the prices aren't great.

Hopefully Pridham and our boys can convince him on our pricing metrics. And hopefully Treliving was a victim of the "gotta live in calgary" tax.

Thinking about some of my least favorite moves of his....like that Frolik contract. Funnily enough IIRC that was a nerdy based contract cuz frolik had fantastic nerdies at the time iirc.

actually you're underselling the dubas leafs there.

I don't care about shootout wins, and that 105pt team had a whole bunch of them.

Paces ignoring Shootout Wins:

16-17: 94pts
17-18: 98pts

enter Dubas

18-19: 100pts
19-20: 94pts (Babs 75, enter Keefe 103)

20-21: 111pts
21-22: 112pts
22-23: 110pts

also

16-17: #11 xgf%
17-18: #13 xgf%

enter Dubas

18-19: #11 xgf%
19-20: #11 xgf% (Babs #25, enter Keefe #5)

20-21: #2 xgf%
21-22: #3 xgf%
22-23: #5 xgf%

also

16-17: #11 sv%
17-18: #4 sv%

enter Dubas

18-19: #10 sv%
19-20: #21 sv% (Babs #22, enter Keefe #20)

20-21: #16 sv%
21-22: #22 sv%
22-23: #10 sv%
and are you attributing credit to these successes to only Keefe and not the guy who hired him?

and are you attributing credit to these successes to only Keefe and not the guy who hired him?

all I'm saying is that the argument for Keefe's impact is far clearer than the argument for Dubas'.

remember, I like dubas and the job he did for the most part.
