Well when you have earlier draft picks and accumulate picks as opposed to trade them away, it would make sense that the prospect pool would be far better. Far far better. Like not even close.

All joking aside it has to cut to deep that the younger late first rounder "reach" pick of Cowan is already better than the #1 pick from a year prior. I say that with complete seriousness and zero mocking or trolling. It simply cannot feel good as a fan or as one in habs management
