OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Glad that Roden made it. I really hope he gets lots of AB and some rope.

I was resigned about Straw from the beginning and while his ST numbers are great, he had easily the lowest quality of opponent among the guys on the bubble so far this spring. I don’t think it really matters, they were always going to take him especially with Varsho limited.
In a perfect world when Varsho comes back Straw and Lukes are both punted.

we should be praying they keep Lukes tbh. he's actually solid.

this management usually wastes tons of playing time on way, way worse bench players.

You don't bring up Roden to not play him. He will be getting the "Starter" Innings, while Lukes getting the "day off" innings, and Straw will get the RH at-bats and defensive innings at CF.

I think it was Yarbrough's decision to either opt in to or opt out of the Jays contract. He choose to become an FA.

So, uhhh…the Baltimore Orioles 100% knew exactly what they were doing with this new name & logo for their double-A farm team, right?

Roden and Wagner in the opening day lineup.

Springer moves to CF to fill in instead of the pure bench guys.

solid decisions to start.

question will be if Roden or Wagner can hit well enough to push Gimenez down the lineup.

Pop is just another fungible backend rp, like nance and robertson and barnes. They probably all end up in Buffalo. Doubt any team is super eager to add them to their 40 man.

Gimenez cleanup is... something.

Would be really nice if we could get one breakout bat to get cleanup instead, and move those guys down the order a bit. Ideally, if one of Wagner/Roden could actually legit break out, and maybe Springer can bounce back to being respectable, a lineup like:
Bichette
Vlad
Santander
Roden/Wagner
Springer
Gimenez
Kirk
Varsho/Roden/Wagner
Clement

could actually be decent overall. Gimenez/Kirk i like a lot better if they can be 6/7 in the lineup rather than 4/5.
