Carney has also indicated he won’t play any games and will call a bye-election ASAP after he renegotiates the US/MEX trade deal

the author, in my view, is either writing incredibly disingenuously, or just has a complete pie in the sky view of government.
Also mentioned that he won't play games and will not get in the way of PP getting back in.Carney just wrapped up his first press conference since the election. Some notable announcements:
- He’ll be travelling to Washington on Tuesday to begin trade & security negotiations with Trump.
- King Charles will deliver the throne speech to Canadian Parliament later this month (likely the 26th or 27th). This will be the first time the sitting monarch has delivered the Canadian throne speech since Queen Elizabeth in 1977.
- His new cabinet will be announced in about a week-and-a-half. No details offered on its makeup.
- He ruled out any kind of formal coalition with the NDP or Bloc.

Both the NDP and the Conservatives are broke. Carney will probably get to 4 yearsNot surprised. I was saying it on election night, everything he's looking to do will find support from somewhere and no one is looking for a vote of non confidence for at least 18-24 months. Shit the NDP will probably support anything the Liberals do for longer than that to avoid an election.
If Carney comes out as aggressive a nation builder as he campaigned, I don't see getting votes to enact the legislation being a problem.
Strikes me as the type of person that might just vote for Trump because Harris fails his ideological purity test.the author, in my view, is either writing incredibly disingenuously, or just has a complete pie in the sky view of government.
At some point in the next two years, the NDP will have a new leader and a desire to return to official party status. It’s possible that’s what triggers it, especially if Carney looks to be along ground in QC (and hence the Bloc wants another election as well.)Not surprised. Yeah, every time I start to consider myself a progressive I get reminded that people like this exist. The left wing circular firing squad is real.
Definitely seems like the type of “progressive” that loves the feeling of moral superiority imbued by making #bothsides type arguments. And who in his all-consuming quest for ideological purity, fails to see the forest for the trees.
And from a quick glance through his Twitter feed, it’s completely exhausting wall-to-wall identity politics.
imo, when I see muppets like this featured in major newspapers, it feels like #controlledopposition to me. Provide insufferable smarmy leftist cunts with a platform so that they can make progressive ideas seem less approachable to people.
The idea that something can't on balance be a force for good without being 100% morally pure, and that we require to be bothsides'd whenever we start to feel good about ourselves really does just get in the fucking way of getting things done that makes Canadian society a better place to live.

It ain't just the province of Alberta with right wing whackjobs...
These guys came so close to forming the provincial government in British Columbia.
Interior of BC is like Alberta. Same all the way down to SoCal.
