2nd Rnd '25 Playoffs: Leafs vs Panthers - Flo-Rida them onto the ECF - LFG!

Marchand is a beleafer:

“They’re heavy back there, and obviously, their coaching has changed,” Marchand said. “Their structure is very, very good right now, especially in the D-zone. They don’t give up a whole lot around the net. We knew it was going to be a really tough battle; we didn’t expect to roll over them, by any means.

“They’re very good on the rush, so you’ve got to be above them,” Marchand said. “It seemed like every time we gave them the opportunity to get above us, they capitalized on it. It just shows how dangerous they are. It doesn’t take much for them to score, so we just have to make sure that we’re pretty much perfect out there on our defensive coverage.”

neither of our goalies has been shy about coughing up rebounds these playoffs and we're still not giving up many rebound chances. That's good home plate D for sure.

And i was hoping that we'd be able to expose their slowfooted dmen and we've been doing exactly that in both games so far. Panthers love to pinch and it gives them plenty of extra ozone possession but we're punishing them for it.

their second pair is pretty underwhelming. Jones is a super-pooper. He's spent half the series on his ass it feels like.

Keefe made adjustments?

in some ways he made way too many adjustments.

his lines and pairings were different almost every game, and changed during the games too. some of that was due to injury but that doesn't explain all of it.

an underrated part of the team right now is how consistent the lines and pairings have been so far. The 1st and 4th line and D-pairs haven't changed one iota during this playoffs run.

The 2nd and 3rd lines have been in flux, but that's probably mostly due to Patches being a question mark coming in - in his mind, brooby has probably always wanted a healthy patches on the 2nd line.

And as for the line, he actually would have put Reaves in after game 1.
