You dont think your "McDavid is coming home" takes are dated and unamusing?Exactly. Three dated Habs fans chiming in with dated shit that nobody else finds amusing anymore.
On a Leafs board? The only people it seems to be bothering don’t need to be posting here. You dont think your "McDavid is coming home" takes are dated and unamusing?
This became a general interest board long long ago.On a Leafs board? The only people it seems to be bothering don’t need to be posting here.

Worst fan base in sports.I’ve been less interested in it since “Habs fans” started ruining it
Meh, bottom 10. I can think of several when incorporating all sports.Worst fan base in sports.
The best, just absolute best, is when it actually happens. On a Leafs board? The only people it seems to be bothering don’t need to be posting here.
When what actually happens? McDavid signs with Toronto or Marner comes back? The best, just absolute best, is when it actually happens.
That might be better than any cup win, to be honest.
It's much more realistic than Matthews to Coyotes ever was.You dont think your "McDavid is coming home" takes are dated and unamusing?

Team can try to talk to him as much as much as they want, but if he’s “not in a rush” and “thinking and discussing with family” and he’s not engaging, then no talks are happening.well that much is true. the Yotes and their high school arena weren't playing at the adult table when it came to stroking a $50 million day 1 cheque for an Auston Matthews, and the whole thing was largely promoted by people who hated the Leafs. if Matthews grew up in Chicago or New York or Florida then I might have taken the "he's leaving for his hometown" stuff more seriously.
I think the only part of the more recent McDavid rumours that feels genuine is the thing about the short term deal. I know it's out there that they haven't talked at all during the summer, but I don't really believe that as there is far too much at stake particularly on the team side. I think it might even be shorter than people are saying, maybe only 2 years which will take him back to being in position for highest paid again after the impending cap increase. Under a significantly higher cap ceiling 20+ million might be possible whereas if he signs now it's probably more like 15 or 16. that's a healthy chunk of change.
I don't care for Dangle's schtick at all but he's actually a legit good trustworthy guy and fans legit respect him so it's so much better to hear this shit coming from him rather than have to agree with that weasel Simmons. This will get much more traction.
