The Official 2026 Off-Season Thread: Revenge of the Nerds

Actually, it looks like he's stopped the recession and has added to it over the last couple of seasons.

If he hadn't taken some measures, he was on the fast track to losing it all, but he's halted it.

Of all the cuckoo psychopathic homeopathic voodoo science out there, red light therapy has some interesting early data behind it. It might be tiny barely discernable benefits, but I think there's some legit stuff there.

I'll get concerned when he starts with the amulet shit tho.
I think the main benefit is it seems to help heal skin blemishes and promote some hair growth.

So great Auston Matthews is spending time each day wrapping his body in red lights so that his knee doesn’t have a scar on it, and he has more hair on his knee than his head.

One of its proclaimed benefits is reducing inflammation, muscle soreness and joint stiffness. If someone is dealing with a chronic injury it could definitely have some beneficial outcomes. Also boosts mitochondria which is key in ATP production.

I get that but the evidence it actually helps those things is not well supported currently.

Auston has access to better research than you. Full disclosure: I’m bathing in red as I type this
Sorry bub

No, red light therapy (RLT) will not make your penis grow physically larger.

While it has gained popularity in men's health circles, it is important to separate what it actually does from marketing hype:

1. It Increases Blood Flow, Not Permanent Size

Red and near-infrared light stimulate the release of nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and improves local circulation. While this can result in firmer, fuller, and higher-quality erections (which might make things appear maximize-capacity during an erection), it does not add new tissue or permanently alter your baseline anatomy.

2. What the Science Actually Says

  • Erectile Function: Most genuine clinical interest and animal research focus on using RLT to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED) by targeting poor circulation, nerve damage, or inflammation.
  • No Growth Studies: There are exactly zero peer-reviewed scientific studies showing that photobiomodulation (red light) increases permanent flaccid or erect length/girth.

3. Proceed with Caution (Avoid the Heat)

If you are planning to try a red light device on that area for skin health or circulation, be incredibly careful with the equipment. The testicles are highly sensitive to temperature; regular heat from low-quality or improperly positioned lamps can negatively impact sperm count and testosterone production. True therapeutic RLT uses "cold" LEDs, but keeping a safe distance is still vital.
