2019-20 Canes Miscellaneous News Thread

they need better lighting when they have the local hosts Shane and Abby at intermission. Also one of them needs a better hairstyle. :) I don't mind odd haircuts but that one is not good.
 
You gotta love the work of the Canes marketing team...but when you retweet a complaint and say "Yes we're a bunch of jerks and have the t-shirts to prove it" you know you've got some innovative minds working there.

That went from Cherry’s inanity to a t-shirt in 48ish hours. Same thing with the sendoff at the arena a couple of weeks ago. According to what a couple of the marketing guys tweeted, that idea was hatched at about 8:30 on Friday night. The details were posted about 18 hours later. What are the odds that someone already has a “Dear Gussy” t-shirt design in the hopper?

Huh. I guess I can't make out what he's saying when he says that. Still not impressed with his play calling, but it's been only a few games. It doesn't help him when I tune into another game and hear John's play by play. /sigh

He has 7 games experience and he’s not on-site. I don’t think I could listen to him on the radio though, sometimes he just lets things unfold and you can’t do that on radio.

But he’s not John and will always have that as an anchor, the guy who replaced the Mighty Forslund.
 
I admire the effort of the local crew and I’ll pop over occasionally for between period stuff but sorry, NBC feed (except for Milbury) is where I gravitate to

Watching Pens-Habs now. Milbury is mostly quiet except for stoppages. But Forslund and Boucher worked together a lot the last 2 years and have good chemistry, so they’re doing most of the work. Thank God.

He wouldn’t be doing NBC games until the Canes were eliminated, or the 2nd round, when NBC has the exclusive rights. But he’d probably be remote instead of onsite in Toronto.

People (not you) are acting like the remote aspect doesn't matter ... which is patently ridiculous. Ray Hudson is probably the only man on earth who can cover a live sporting event from a remote studio and not miss a beat. And so far as I've even been able to tell, Ray Hudson is a space alien.

I honestly feel bad for Mike because he's doing a very credible job under very difficult circumstances ... and still isn't good enough for a lot of people because he's not Forslund.
