2019 Offseason Thread

If your roto dynasty league gets going, I'll consider it again and mention it to them too. I have 3 baseball pools in the summer and can usually handle more, but I've got a baby coming in April so I'm not sure how my free time will hold up. LOL

We had our first last July and our second is on the way for this June. Congrats on the upcoming addition, it's the best thing you'll ever do!

Having said that, let me tell you, the more fantasy leagues you can get into, the better. There are going to be a lot of loooooooooooong nights early on. A baby, a bottle and a phone with the Fantrax app are a perfect fit with only two hands.

Make sure to get one of those hats that hold two beers that you drink through a straw, as well. A complete lifesaver.

Congrats to you too then! I think I might be persuaded on this point. LOL Whatever else gets pushed to the side, I always make time for my fantasy teams!
 
So I heard back from Kevin...he says he isn't able to post on the forum yet but feels like he would be a great long term option for the league and would be happy to come aboard if you guys need/want him. His only concern was the imbalance in draft picks between the two teams, which is really not an issue if we go the dispersal draft route.

Assume Jeremy and Jason are still at work today but I'll send them an email too to check in.

The reason teams would have an imbalance of picks is that one team traded picks for other assets.

But yeah, that's the reason for a dispersal draft.
 
Okay, so Jason was interested too and says we should let him know if another team becomes available. But he and Jeremy have decided to let Jeremy have the opening at this point.

So if you guys are okay with it, Jeremy and Kevin will be in. Feel free to send them any info you want, or I can pass things along as the middleman if you need me to.
 
I'm just gonna throw out a wild idea....but what about keeping ~15-18 players each & 20-25 prospects instead of 20 & 30.....and letting three teams draft, to get back up to 19 teams?

This sounds like a chance to add 3 real quality managers. 🤷‍♂️
 
I don't mind that idea... too bad there's not a 4th manager interested.... we could actually get up to 20 teams and all would be right.
 
Yeah I'm not opposed to it either.

I feel like this league needs a bit of a refresh, that would certainly do that.
 
While I’m confused over whether to slap or high five you people, count me in. Getting three solid new managers is worth it.

18 and 22 sounds about right to me.
 
Part of me says doing a 3 team draft sounds great and would be good for the league. The other part that just spent considerable assets to upgrade my team isn't happy to lose maybe guys I just traded for. I think we should do it, but we need to think it out and not screw over anyone who didn't have expansion in their plans.

Maybe the inbetween of this is that we treat it like bench players, so if they aren't drafted they're kept by the original manager.....and anyone who loses players, can "fill up" to 20 again via their previously unprotected bench players..prior to the actual draft. (So you lose your 18th & 19th best players hypothetically, but get to keep 20 & 21 instead).
