Looks like we need two replacements. Bad News Bears and Stubby (?) seemed to have left the league. Anyone have a friend they want to invite?

Just got confirmation from Stubby that he has left. He said he would stay on if we absolutely needed someone but he wouldn't be very active.

Anybody know someone who might be interested? Is there a baseball thread on the Habs board, maybe try to recruit somebody from over there?

It's getting harder and harder to find anyone.

I know from my other leagues, seems like we get a replacement and they last only a year (or two if we're lucky) and we're left looking for someone else again. Sucks.

So 2 teams are available...

How messy are those teams and what do they look ranking wise ?

Too bad it's another huge hit to Bears' team. Hopefully he sticks around cause it'll be a hard team to find a taker for with not much for players and no 1st rounders to reap the benefits of being last place.

I can already piece out that Bear ran his team to the ground before leaving and now it looks like a dumpster fire..?

His team is pretty bad. Some decent pieces but won't be competitive for a while. Stubby's team isn't bad really. Hitting is pretty good but the pitching is meh. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad with his roster to take over. I've sent you an invite so you can snoop around.

Yeah, he made one of the most lopsided trades in league history and then got out of Dodge. And, I say that as someone who has probably made the next 5 worst trades in league history.

Based on what you've done in the hockey league, you could probably take Stubby's team and turn it into a contender relatively quickly.

What do we do with the other team, simply contract it? Or, if someone comes on board, perhaps they get first crack at any of our unprotected roster pieces to give them a jump start on their 42 year rebuild?

Completely unrelated, any interest in going to 26 roster spots to coincide with the change made this year in the majors?

We could also combine both rosters plus all unprotected players into one list, and have a 2-team draft for the new managers before the regular draft.

I guess one option would be for Thunder to take over Stubby's team, and contract the other. But it would definitely be preferable to find a new manager. Are you cool with a 2-team draft, Thunder, or do you just want to take over for Stubby?

Thunder seems to be in, which is great, so now we either contract Bears or find another owner eh? I could ask a few guys if we're still looking, but not sure if any of the good managers I know would be willing.

I'm fine with 26 man rosters if we switch to that.

Well guys I am sorry for the false hopes, I don’t think it’s going to work out.

As most of you know I am very active in the Dynasty Hockey League and I really appreciate the FI community, so I wanted to try and help you guys out on this one.

I first thought of a candidate in my good friend Blueshirt whom joined the Hockey League this year.
He really loves baseball and I mostly asked the infos for him.
He’s already in over 5 Fantasy Leagues, Hockey and Football, and he’s just starting to really get into our Hockey League so there is no interest on his part this year.

Also for me I used to follow Baseball with my father when I was a kid, but I have not been interested that much in the last 10 years.
I am passionate about hockey and basketball, the rest not much.

Still I really enjoy Fantasy Sport and I thought maybe I could take on one of the two teams available in casual way, to support the community, and get into Baseball a little more this summer.
I thought I could get by with number analysis and fantasy lists and so on.

Deckie gave me access to the League so I could look into it and I think I was over optimistic thinking I could manage a team in the same way I am doing on the Hockey side without the same knowledge and passion.
My vision on how to build a championship team as of now does not translate.

Stubby’s team would be wasted on me.

And with my lack of knowledge of prospects and depth players, I would definitively not be ready for a draft of both teams assets with another new manager.

Shit, I don't even watch baseball. Following a sport has nothing to do with playing a fantasy version.

What about the two of you sharing the team? At least for the first year, you guys could work together as you learn the rules and player pool.
