2019 Offseason Thread

Pretty sure payments for this league are done in Fantrax.

And Jeremy you're right about the draft. There are 3 new managers who will be selecting from the 3 rosters listed in the thread (snake draft), along with the Unprotected Players list, which will be posted once all teams have submitted their protected lists.

Thank you!

So, I've officially tracked down Bull. He says he wants to remain in the league. Do we give Bull his team back and look at expending to 19 again? Or, if DeJong is out, Bull gets his team back and that's the 3rd in the dispersal draft?

It's a tough one. Bull has been a staple in the league, but the new managers seem very interested and active. It's not fair to pull a team from them, of course, but I'd love to figure out a way to get the goof back in.

Kellen, as for the fantasy football league, I'll cover Bull's payment. How much was it again?

I think it's an easy call, imo....Bull keeps his team, and Dejong squad replaces his spot in the dispersal until we hear otherwise.

Bull is too quality a manager to lose, when we don't have to. 👍

(and if Dejong says he also wants to stay, I'd vote for expanding to 19....us all keeping fewer players/prospects....and Bull keeping his squad.)

Given the keeper deadline hasn't even come & gone....I don't even consider Bull to be "gone" personally.....

I'm with you. He's been a staple in the league for years and his dedication to mid-year teardowns/all-ins are second to none. How can you not have a full on Kamikaze mission specialist as a part of the league?

All good, don’t worry about he football league. I appreciate that, but the champ has been paid and he’s happy. Water under the bridge.

It’ll be double next year though if he comes back :p

And yeah, we still haven't been able to get a hold of DeJong yet, so if he isn't interested or can't be reached, it's an easy decision. Bull gets his team back and DeJong's team goes into the dispersal draft instead.

If both return, we can reconsider a 19th team - it just brings us back to the question on the best way to do it.

Best way to confirm people are back are to pay for the season. But yeah, Bull's been a good manager before so obviously if he can log in and pay his fees, more than happy to keep him around. If he does want to back out later, then could always talk to Thunder again to see if he would want to take over mid-season or for next year, for example, as a way to ease into the league.

If we're going to expand, I'd prefer it to be planned well ahead of time (i.e. before the off-season starts) rather then a few weeks before the draft. I think it's unfair to spring it on existing managers who have made moves to improve their teams over the past few months. The league is at a pretty nice balance right now and we seem to have to replace a manager every off season anyway, so having someone really interested in a team on a waiting list is a good idea, rather then trying to cram an expansion team into the league that's going to dilute all the new managers rosters.

Just my 2 pennies on the matter.

I do tend to agree with that. 18 teams is still pretty damn good, and it's just really hard to figure out a way to expand that everyone would be happy with.

Don’t mean to be the pushy new guy, but you guys should put some sort of deadline on payments, team registration, and protected lists. It’s hard for me to build a dispersal draft ranking if I don’t know which teams are involved and which players are unprotected, also spring training starts in a couple weeks.

It's taken some time to get the manager situation sorted out ... seems like we should be ready to roll now. For the NEW MANAGERS, take note that Bull is returning, Dejong is out. I'll update the Dispersal Draft thread list of players when I have a moment.

And yes, we should get some deadlines set pronto. First up is protected lists - due by Saturday?

Order of Events:

1 - Getting new managers acclimated to the league and Fantrax settings.
2 - Protected Lists & Entry Fee Deadline
3 - Regular Draft
4 - Baseball!!
