2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

It is absolutely hilarious reading the article about parking for this concert and the Noah Kahan show, which is sold out. The people at Carter-Finley and Lenovo all give excuses as to why traffic was so backed up and people completely missed the Chris Brown concert and others last year because of it. They say, Oh, well last year we scheduled multiple things and the state fair....yada yada yada, then they have the nerve to say well it was a lesson learned and we will schedule differently......oh you mean, you didn't learn the lesson from the last 25 years? The other lessons where you said lessons were learned? I swear I have no idea how these people maintain jobs and can breathe on their own without someone telling them to inhale and exhale.
 
B of A stadium in Charlotte is also getting a large remodel to the tune of 1.3 billion....mostly privately funded with 650M coming from hospitality and tourism tax that were approved by the city back in 2024 I believe . They are hoping to pull in larger events like the Women's World Cup in a few years. They also inked an naming rights extension with Bank of America.

I just bought some new headlights, a cabin air filter, and a regular air filter for my car. Thinkin about getting some oil and an oil filter as well. Yep. Filters n lights is what it's all about right now. Yep.

It was an HR complaint. The press release they sent to us came from the Director of Marketing, so I knew right away it wasn't football related. He is the main reason Bubba and Steve didn't want to hire him and BB but, as usual, the money guys in the BoT got their way after they got stars in their eyes when BB reached out about the job. Bubba wanted the guy from Tulane, and in fact kept trying to 'court' him while the others were vetting BB. He is not a fan. But, just like they did with the Butch Davis hire, they let someone outside the athletics family....who actually know the landscape....make the call on the hire and they will pay for it.

Also, its a former employee....so it could be an axe to grind....or maybe they are a former employee because of Lombardi and his antics.....it will all come out
 
Jon Sumrall out of Tulane and now with U of F would have been the classiest hire! He is a real good guy. I’m well steeped in Tulane athletics and my neighbor’s kid played for him and loved the man. UNC followed their worst impulses and they’re going to pay for it if they haven’t started to already.

Yep....now their old friend Pablo Torre is saying "NIL compliance" but he is the only one. We were told a couple of staffers lodged personal complaints after they were fired. Could be a little of both I suppose. Funny thing is the SEC is rife with shit worse than this but they are able to sweep it under the rug. Just look at Georgia under Kirby. They spend more in Bail and lawyers than NIL lol Yet literally no one gives a shit.

Lombardi just needs to go back into whatever dark sewer he crawled out of
 
Everyone come through last night's nastiness OK? We briefly lost power for about 10 minutes, my neighbors are on a different circuit and are still out, I hear a generator running. The lights at Creedmoor Rd. at the ramp onto westbound 540 are out as are the lights at Creedmoor Rd. and Stonehenge. In the news last night, they said the area at Leesville and 540 was pretty badly hit too.

We had a strong one come through Fayetteville but I slept through most of it. But we have some large branches down but thats about it.
