A couple buddies and I used to drink quarts of beer at that laundromat waiting on clothes. One evening on a dare I did a dryer ride, with the heat turned all the way down, the door open, & my buddy holding the switch down. Sitting cross-legged with my back against the drum & elbows propped against the fins, going round & round. Somebody took exception and we got the boot. It was fun while it lasted.Ha! Friend of mine caught some bum walking out with his clothes there one day in the 80s and had to chase him down.
Left some quarters at that place also.
Pretty sure that's the place I found some green stuff in my laundry one day and figured I just washed a couple quarter ounces.
Don't even remember the parking deck.
Had my knee bent the wrong way at the Underground at the 999 show. It's f'd to this day. Damned 19 years old thinking it'll mend all by itself. Nope.
Cameron Village Subway was so much fun and too many great bands came through that hole in the ground. It was definitely a different time and way too long ago. It was easy staggering distance from a P.R. warm up as well.
Kerr Drugs downstairs had the nicest supply of fishing tackle that side of Raleigh too. Thorne's on South St and Hill's were the only other shops close.
That place deserves a better name & logo, no matter what it was turned into.
