2020-21 Season and Draft Discussion

I’m sure that Hawryluk still had the flag that made him availble for injured reserve monday if not yesterday. I never had a message or anything about an illegal roster. But he has already played in 7 games... I should have been more careful and check for the stats and not only for the flag. There seems to have been a bug in fantrax...

i have a question.
This might be something that other GMs are going to need to know, but i am going to have the discussion based on my team for simplicity sake.

I traded Provorov away a few weeks ago.
When he was on my team, and on my starting roster, the Flyers had 6 games PPD due to covid protocol.
This isnt an IR type situation. No one would start a player on IR.

so, for instance, a game that was scheduled for January 5th, was cancelled due to covid protocol, and then replayed april 4th, that april 4th game should still be considered the january 5th game, when i had Provorov in my starting line up expecting those points.

Pls tell me the GMs that are in this situation are going to be awarded the points for those PPD games.

Yikes.

When PPD games were announced before roster lock, my team sometimes played lesser players and benched more productive players to avoid missing games.

If I would have known at the beginning of the season that PPD games would have been added to said period ulteriorly, I would have opted to play my most productive players.

And when you take a deeper look into it, there is a lot of problems that come up with that idea.

For example, what if Provorov or any other players from a postponed game(s) gets traded in real life and the PPD game(s) happens after the TDL ?

Couturier, Hayes or other players would get points added to a previous period while the traded player would not get that benefit ?

PPD games can’t work like that.

I could bring up a lot more issues, but it shouldn’t be necessary.

When i traded away Provorov, i fully expected to receive those points in the game in which i started him. Plain and simple. I am not talking about other issues.

The fact that you traded Provorov is irrelevant to that situation.

You want points for a game that was postponed on a week that you placed Provorov on you active line-up.

The January 5th game does not exist.

The « April 4th game » will count for that Period in which it will be played.

You are not discussing in good faith if you just dismiss the issues raised with the situation you are bringing up.

it is irrelevant when the game is being re-played. As far as this league is concerned that Jan 4 game, played whenever should count during the week it was scheduled to the GM that owned the player during that week in which he started him. this is pretty simple.

The game should only count on the week that it will be played.
There is no rules stating otherwise.

As far as this league is concerned, Fantrax counts PPD games on the period that they are played, not on the original scheduled period.

This is pretty simple.

Ben Bishop was injured during Period 2 when a Dallas game was PPD.

Pavelski was on an active line-up during Period 2 when a Dallas game was PPD.

Now let’s say the game is PPD to period 20 and Bishop is in net, Fantrax will count both Pavelski and Bishop’s game for Period 20.
As it should.

Are we going to decide mid-season to deny the owner of Ben Bishop the possibility to make points at that game on Period 20 because out of the blue we decide that particular game will count for Period 2 ?

Oh no, let’s see, why don’t Pavelski’s points for that particular game count for Period 2, and Ben Bishops points for that same game count for for Period 20 ?

No, plain and simple.

Yeah, I don't really understand the issue here. There was no game played on January 5th. It was postponed and re-scheduled. That game will be played in April - I'm not sure how or why it would be expected to affect a scoring period in January?

Obviously there aren't many postponed games in hockey, but I'd imagine it's pretty clear that if a New York Yankees game is rained out in mid-April and re-scheduled for mid-September, that game would be played and scored in mid-September.

No. I think we all need to realize that this is a league wide issue that in theory will affect everyone roughly the same.

There was no game on the day you started him. Whoever owns him on the day that the game is actually played will receive those points.

Philly had 4 game PPD week 5. If Provorov and Giroux were both on IR, would i have started them? no
I started them and those games were PPD... when they play those make up games, i should get the points for Provorov.

Stop buying your cheap drugs from Bubbles. You only get points for games played by players on your roster. Can't believe you are even making this argument.

Not only is it an absurd idea... But who the hell is going to go through every team and look at what team owned each player when a game was postponed and what team has them now... And delete points from the new team and add them to the old team? That's an insane amount of work.
