Well, this tweet from Frank Seravalli could explain with the Panthers have been stocking up on dmen. He says the Panthers have told Keith Yandle that he doesn’t factor in their plans for this season. They can’t put him on the taxi squad, he has a full NMC. He has a $6.35 million cap hit through 2022-23

Marcus Foligno signs a 3 year/$9.3 million extension with the Wild, starting next season. Actuals are 2.1/3.1/4.1. He’s in the last year of a 4 year/$11.5 million contract.

Canucks sign dman Travis Hamonic to a 1 year/$1.25 million contract.

Florida's D is not good at all. They are going to need Bobs to be a difference maker or score 4+ goals most games to have a chance

Yeah ... they're probably just as bad with Yandle as they are without him. I'm just not sure what the plan is down there anymore. If they sucked in net, they could pretty easily slip into tank mode, but even at his worst Bob is too good a keeper for that.

Florida has to stomach a $6.35 million cap hit for the next 3 years for Yandle and the Canucks get Hamonic in the fold for $1.25 million...that truly is two different ends of the spectrum when it comes to examining the biggest bang for your buck!!!

That’s the price they paid to sign him in 2016. He had been with the Rangers after the Yotes traded him, but the Yotes retained 50% of his salary. Maybe the NMC was the kicker, He’s been pretty consistent, with at least 40 points in every full NHL season and was on pace for 53 last season. The year before, he had 9g, 53a but was -17

The Wild's Kirill Kaprizov introduced himself to the NHL last night with 3 points, including the OT game winning goal, in his NHL debut. Minnesota has been anxiously waiting for this kid (he turns 24 in April) for a while as he tore up the KHL the last few years.

The NHL shift charts for that game are not up so I cannot tell if this was a line, but Kaprizov set up Victor Rask for a goal earlier in that game. If Kaprizov is playing on a line with Rask, look for Victor Rask to have his best year in Minnesota by far. This Kaprizov kid is electric.

"Kid" is relative, given he's 3+ years older than Svech, who's just started his third season in the league.

Yeah ... 24 is a nicely burnished veteran age at this point. The entry age for rookies is getting younger and younger over the last 3-4 years.

Kaprizov is about the same age as Artemi Panarin was when he came over to the NHL. Rangers "Rookie" goalie Igor Shesterkin is 25. So is rookie Islander goalie Ilya Sorokin. We have all these trendy Russians arriving late to the NHL party....
