What? In today’s hockey with today’s refs that’s just a hockey play!Yeah ... a slash from the bench is gonna get you a game and a long conversation, minimum.

All hell breaking loose!!! Hope they beat the shit out of each other all night.Rangers / Devils game only a few minutes in and already about 11 players with misconducts.
At 2 seconds into the game, all 10 skaters received fighting majors and 8 of the 10 got game misconducts. Jimmy Vesey and Curtis Lazar were the onky skaters that escaped. Travis Green started his 4th line, including Kurtis McDermid, and Laviolette responded with his 4th line including Matt Rempe. Very true! remember those days well. After the game go to a bar with the other team. The good ole days. Only thing that would make that more 1980’s is if they all went to the showers smoking Marlboro reds and chugging Budweiser.
That was a curious approach from refs Hebert and Dwyer. They're old timers so they had to know what was coming and I'm guessing they had the call queued up and ready to go. Throwing 8 guys out of the game 2 seconds in on what amounts to a technicality is almost as bonkers as squaring up for a line brawl at the opening draw. The whole thing smacks of the Ringling Brothers no matter how popular it was with the masses.Rangers / Devils game only a few minutes in and already about 11 players with misconducts.
The Devils probably felt like they had a score to settle with Rempe becuase of what he did to Siegenthaler the last time they played in March, which caused him to miss 9 games. So Green sent out his 4th line (but Marino instead of Smith on D?) and Lavi responded accordingly. And Dwyer and Hebert had to have the game misconducts in mind when they saw the lineups, it’s odd to toss players for a fight. That was a curious approach from refs Hebert and Dwyer. Bottom line ... what was the point of any of that?
