Not sure but it was years ago. The site was derelict for a few years then it burnt down. There aren't many left on Ste. Catherine. Used to be at least one or two on every block between Drummond and Bleury.
The best way to watch a Habs game was with a $6 pitcher of Export at the Brasserie Bon Voyage on St. Jacques in NDG. The only food option was beer nuts, which were available from a gumball machine. Put in a quarter, turn the knob and catch them in your hand.
Like 10 years ago there was that trendy hipster faux retro place Chez Serge with the Coyote Ugly bartenders in biker outfits and $20 pitchers of Molson Ex (the one featured on Fallon with the Subban mural), but it moved or closed.

When I went back to Montreal in February after a 20 year absence (and 30 since I really knew the city), I really noted the huge change along the Main and elsewhere. All more respectable, cleaner and so on, but still...something missing. At least that's me.
