2023 Draft and UFA Thread

Meanwhile, the Caps just signed Ivan Miroshnichenko to an ELC after his contract for Omsk was terminated.
 
I could definitely believe that Russia would love to keep their next budding superstar at home and they might do some shady shit to keep him there. They were able to pay for Kovalchuk & Radulov to stay in Russia... up to a certain point, anyway. And even then, the money is North America was better than what was available in Russia.

But to outright stop any Russian player from leaving the country to play elsewhere? What fucking evidence is there of that happening, beyond one player who didn't do his military service?

I remain extremely skeptical.
 
Yah, it’s hard to know. Circumstances seem so arbitrary there, one incident can’t be generalized. It’s just messed up.

Things might have changed with Ukraine but I'm guessing the next 3 years make it more likely michkov comes over... Not less.
