I think at some point, people are going to give him a real hard look for first overall.
I say this in all honesty: I think Fantilli might be a better overall NHLer than Bedard.

He might be a better NHL’er than Bedard but Bedard will assuredly be the first overall pick barring a serious injury to him this season.

Yes, yes, the same way there's "no way" Wright doesn't go first overall. The same way Aatu Raty was the pre-season favorite for the 2021 draft and ended up going late in the 2nd.
Players improve, players stagnate, they're 17/18 years old.
Any time new information becomes available, it absolutely has to be taken into consideration.
Bedard has been mentioned as the next "McDavid" for 4-5 years now (and his statistical progression in the WHL has been steady - he has NOT stagnated). No one was saying that about Shane Wright. Ever. I'm not arguing that Fantilli shouldn't be drafted ahead of Bedard . . . but I am telling you that he won't be unless Bedard suffers a serious injury this season. Barring that, I'm 100 percent confident that Bedard will be the 1OA.

I know he’s not but the perception has been for years is that he’s the best prospect since McDavid and he’s done nothing recently to negate that perception. He’s going 1OA.

No, he absolutely hasn't. At no point has Bedard been labeled the next "McDavid".
What they said is he's best prospect since McDavid, not that they're on equivalent levels.

Which is exactly what I wrote three posts down. Did you not read that? The “best prospect since McDavid” is going 1OA, even if there are strong arguments for Fantilli becoming the better NHL player.
