2023 Draft and UFA Thread

Nick’s own performance upgrade I suspect will be organic once there’s another established threat down the middle be that Dach or whoever HuGo draft / acquire via trade
Yeah. Nick isn't good enough to take all the focus unfortunately. Needs help.

Say wha? What it it's Carlsson or The Fresh Pintz left over?
He said Bedard is on one level, Michkov is just below him, then Carlsson/Fantilli. After that the rest of the top 10 is the same as any other draft in any other year. Some will be good, some will bust, etc.

Ah......the memories. I wonder if he still thinks Jason Ward was a good pick, who just needs time.....years after he was selected.

And he would freak out if anyone took issue with it. Took it personally. Oh well, maybe he's grown up. Does a leopard change his spots?

We (Count, WeHave, a few others) all found it quite funny, didn't we? Makes me smile thinking about it.
Well if you watch the video, Marinaro pokes fun at him for having Fantilli ranked ahead of Bedard in an early season ranking before switching in a mid-season ranking. McCagg, instead of rolling with the joke, said "You keep bringing that up all the time and I keep telling you it doesn't matter." So even just a little dig and he starts getting irritated. He is so thin-skinned. He has not and will not ever change. He'll only get worse.

Interesting that Boisvert recommends trading #5 rather than taking Smith.
Only in the sense that after Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov and perhaps Carlsson, none of the others are a lead pipe cinch to make it or to become stars. But it was acknowledged by Kyle Woodlief that Hughes knows Smith very well through his previous career so he will either pick him because he knows everything about him or not pick him because he knows everything about him.

Habs growth next year is determined by Nick , Slaf , Cole , Dach and the promising youth on D

Seriously, this stuff I know about, they need to get a complete audit done by a reputable independent source. The Habs make mad cash, third in the league in total revenues, they can and should be hiring the best when it isn't cap related.

Suzuki is still a mess in his own zone. If he can be reliable in the D end and still get 65-70pts/season that would by excellent.

I don't get that mentality at all. Potential super star but under 6'... oh then pass.

Trade one of the other smaller players. Rocket science.
Really we only have caufield and maybe michkov for small players. Hutson on D. Pretty much all the other prospects are 6 feet or more.

5 on 5 you just play Cole and MM on difference lines.

we need to stop worrying about how our offensive guys play in the defensive zone, he has to go up against guys like Pig Nose and McNopersonality all the time so no surprise if he does not look so good in his own zone.
