Looks like the lottery draw was pretty close for Habs getting 1OA pick - first 3 balls were the same for MTL and Chi. So it’s on the last ball that Chi won.

Looks like it was even closer for CBJ. They had 2 combos starting with 4-5-9

I think Carlsson goes 3. I feel he's the better player. However, Smith is still good enough that it's not worth the risks around Michkov in the top 4. Even though Michkov is arguably even 1B in this draft.

If he comes to North America for the draft he should NOT return to Mother Russia afterward. Staying in North America should be a requirement for him to be drafted.

I just hope that if it's between Michkov and guys like Benson/Dvorsky, that we don't fk things up. At that point, you might be better having a trade in place than drafting the second tier guys.

Apparently though, the last number selected was 9. The 4, 5, and 13 had already been drawn.

If anyone's seen Rangers game the last couple of years, Laf's superstar allure has kind of faded. I think he's a borderline 2nd line player. Michkov has 1st line star potential, so why would you downgrade and then have to pay Laf more money?

Also doubt Rangers are trading both in the same deal. Definitely not for Laf straight up though.
