2024-25 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

The way some people are about new players and new jerseys, don't be surprised to see someone walking around with Nik Ehlers version of this new jersey later tonight.

Or worse ... the extent that people will throw their hundreds of custom jersey dollars behind some roster longshot will always befuddle me. I don't wear player specific jerseys anymore, but I beg my wife routinely not to spend that much on a jersey unless the guy's on a long term deal.
 
I'm fine with it. I have yet to see a different design that is better. And yes, I'm even talking about the hurricane warning flags on the world's smallest hockey stick with comically small warning flags affixed to it.
 
Yeah, that's my thing too. I'm fine with whatever, but if they're getting rid of the logo it needs to be for something as good or better. I've yet to see anything even remotely as good. And I really like the double flag logo as a secondary logo, but IMO it's just too slim to make it the primary logo. Still, it's so much better than the old secondary single flag in a triangle thing from the original black jerseys. That was awful

Yep, if I’m springing for the name, they have to have term. The one exception I made was getting a red adidas Jarvis. He was still on his entry deal but I figured it was a safe bet.

One of my friends has a Darling jersey. We haven’t seen it lately. Another friend got a Foegele jersey when he was a rookie but that disappeared too. At least she got more use out of that than our friend’s Darling. They both wear blanks now. I’ve also seen a couple of Vatanen jerseys. We never saw him play in person, I don’t understand that one, he was only ever going to be a rental. Unless they were completing a Finn collection?
 
Only named Jersey I have is an old Ranheim. Most fans today have no clue who he is. But I have worn it to a few games over the years and someone almost always asks me about it or comments on it.

I have a Brind'Amour, Cole (Erik), and most recently, a Jarvis jersey. That's enough for me. My wife and kids pooled together to buy the Cole and Jarvis jerseys - and my youngest son stood outside the entrance to the arena in the spring of 2006 to get almost every player to sign it on their drive out of the arena. I think something really special happened later that year.
 
Forgot to mention - I was not impressed when I first saw the new road jerseys, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Unlike a lot of people, I'm a big fan of the sightless eye logo.
 
The most important thing for me will be how the new digs look when they are actually playing games. If they look crisp on TV that will be a good thing. I didn't hate the roadies we had been using, beyond some of the cringeworthy helmet combos that the Canes apparently were asked to do once in a while.

I think the black with the red and white will look great overall, you are bang on about the mismatched helmet colors...at one point last year one of those combos was just awful in every sense of the word.

In regards to coming up with a new primary logo...where do you even start and how long of a process does that take to make it through the team, the league, the lawyers, Fanatics and everything else? You would think that would take years to try and pull off and it does not sound like anything is even remotely brewing on that front.

I think the helmet combos were experimental to see who they worked. And they didn’t. Looks like red helmets and red pants are the order of the day.
 
I have a Joslin jersey, but it's game worn and the price was unreal which is why I got it (also has the 63 patch).

I have about 7 Svech jerseys as he's a pretty safe bet... at least he was. :ROFLMAO:
 
I have a question. For those who have official jerseys, what size equates correctly for someone that is now between and medium and large tshirt/swearshirt? Probably closer to a large. All my old jerseys are like evening dresses on me more that I have shriveled away to nothing.
