Zach L’Heureux, call your union rep. This meathead was suspended 10 times between the Q and AHL. He’s not another Matt Rempe though, when his brain isn’t short circuiting, he looks like he can play. A first round pick, he was better than a point per game in the Q and had 48 points in 66 games for Milwaukee last year. But he also had 197 PIM in this 66 games

Not surprisingly, L’Heureux has a hearing.

That’s because Player Safety is a clown showI've seem MUCH worse punished not nearly as severe.
I dunno man. It doesn't get a lot more dangerous than a slew foot that takes out both legs that close to the boards. That's basically a guaranteed injury of some kind.I've seem MUCH worse punished not nearly as severe.
I like the suggestions of late that the NHLPA should start looking seriously at the injury matches the suspension type of protocol...if a guy is truly out weeks because of suspension-worthy plays like L'Heureux's, he should sit for as long as Sturgeon is out. Until the PA actually starts pushing the league hard on this stuff, nothing is ever going to come from the league itself.L’Heureux got 3 games. Seems light, it could have gone to 5 with a phone interview.

I don’t like that. It cuts both ways, if the player isn’t injured, what’s the suspension? On the other hand, it could lead to phony injuries keeping a guy off the ice. Let’s say Tom Wilson goes berserk and injures a 4th liner. Is it in the other team’s best interest to keep Wilson out of the Caps lineup while the other team pretends 4th liner is injured beyond what was expected? Does the suspension carry over to the next year? When Matt Cooke clobbered Marc Savard in March 2010, Savard was out until December.I like the suggestions of late that the NHLPA should start looking seriously at the injury matches the suspension type of protocol...if a guy is truly out weeks because of suspension-worthy plays like L'Heureux's, he should sit for as long as Sturgeon is out. Which is exactly why no serious league has ever matched suspensions to injuries caused.I don’t like that. It cuts both ways, if the player isn’t injured, what’s the suspension? Until the players start respecting each other at least to a point of putting a stop to doing stupid shit like slew foots and head shots there is no solution. At the same time, you cannot have players being lost to teams for months and a guy gets a game or two suspension…that model is as dumb as you get.I don’t like that.
