2024-25 NHL Misc. Thread

I think it was the Athletic that reported Kyle promised Crosby they'd make another run at it if he re-signed, and I really don't see how they do that in earnest.
Based on his recent moves, I'd say that Dubas is simply going to try to inject some youthful energy in the bottom six and hope that gets them some kind of spark. Eller is little more than competent anymore, so it's not like that's a big blow to any grand schemes. Bring up somebody younger, quicker and harder driving and maybe you get some traction with the bottom six. That in turn takes a bit of pressure off the big names and maybe everybody can take a deep breath and enjoy themselves for half a beat. That team just looks like they're on a forced march right now.

And honestly, unless Sid has dug in his heels on the issue, Sullivan is the wrong coach if they want to lighten things up. None of what's going on there is probably his actual fault but nothing he's ever done is going to help them get their season turned around.

Leafs fans should be celebrating Reaves being out of the lineup for five games…they are better for it!
He is the worst player in the league and it's not particularly close. He's so far below replacement level that an AHL forward who scores out at AHL replacement level would be an improvement. The guy is a walking Rorschach test. Do you see a hockey player or a wheel of cheese? Hockey player? Innnnnteresting ....

I can’t believe he’s still playing. The fact that it’s even possible for this meathead to hit 1000 games is nuts.

Absolutely a blessing, and not even in disguise. As somebody who had a heart attack stemming from an underlying heart issue in his mid-50s, I can confidently testify that Riley is fortunate to have this thing found and treated before it turned into a serious problem.
