2024 Draft

I don’t think Benson should be playing in the NHL this season.
May be true. Kinda like the Slaf situation in some ways. Although personally, I always thought Slaf should stay up.

Haven't watched him since mid December .At that time, he didn't look out of place in the NHL. January has been horrible for him stats-wise. But same goes for guys like Tage Thompson. Benson is still the 11th scorer on the Sabres and has missed 11 games. But for me, it's the eye test that counts most even in light of low points. They can easily send him down, but haven't.

The thing that worries me about players with size is always the same:

If you were to examine Lindstrom's strengths & weaknesses without taking his size into consideration, is he still a good player?

I haven't watched Lindstrom play and I'm rather unfamiliar with his game, but it's something that needs to be examined. By the time Lindstrom gets to the NHL, his size won't be as much of an advantage as it is now. Does he have the skills to compensate for that?

Based on what I've read, I'd probably want Berkley Catton before Cayden Lindstrom right now. But if we're picking 7-8th, my pick would probably be Zayne Parekh. High ceiling, RHD with a lot of offensive talent.

It won’t be the guy you want. I think Dickinson is the only D they would consider taking and even that seems unlikely.

I'd be fine with Dickinson too. He's a safe pick.

But I'm not looking for safe, I'm looking for someone that, if he works out, is a homerun.

He's good some skills, skates very well, decent hands, good shot, better scorer than playmaker, almost a goal per game which is pretty impressive and his game projects well for the NHL but I don't think he has elite talent but he will be a good solid all around contributor.

Yup , but Catton needs to be a dynamic playmaker and point producer if Habs are taking him

Lindstrom is going top 5 , teams wont pass up a Byfield comparison

There might be a scenario where Lindstrom is available at #6 but I have a hard time seeing him drop further than that.

Stylistically, he might look like Byfield, but the production is not at all the same.
