2024 Draft

iirc you lived in Montreal West, a pretty nice neighbourhood. Not like you were from Ville St Pierre or even Verdun where I lived
My grandparents on my mom's side lived in NDG (not Montreal West. Close but not in Montreal West) My dad grew up in a second storey flat on Belanger St. east of St. Laurent. Blvd. When he was a teenager they moved to another flat on Ouimet St. in St. Laurent. He lived there with his parents, his 2 kid sisters, and an aunt. My dad didn't have a bedroom. He slept on the living room couch.

When my folks got married they lived in an apartment in LaSalle, then another apartment on Toupin St. in St. Laurent near Henri Bourassa by the Canadair plant. That was my first home. Then we moved to yet another flat in Chomedey before renting a small house in the Valois section of Pointe-Claire.

Then we moved to Scarborough and lived in a high rise apartment. After a year of that particular hell we moved to a nearby townhouse (also a rental) Finally, we moved to the dirty Shwa into our first mortgage as a family. It took my folks 13 years to scrape together enough to afford a house.

Incidentally my mom had several aunts, uncles and cousins who lived their entire lives in Verdun. Even into the 80's they were all still there.

Not to discredit Bill, but he came from a well established family. Definitely not a rags to riches story, well the latter part is true but his family was successful and he was sent to Harvard.

Guy Laliberté is a much more compelling story.

So am I. He's the one d-man that I might draft if Lindstrom and Demidov are off the board when we pick. He was great at the WJC's as well. He also seems not that far from being NHL-ready.
That’s why I get the sense Silayev & Buium could well go 2 & 3 setting the stage for a frenzy of D picks and dropping F - Demidov, Lidstrom et al into 5-7 range

Silayev is key IMO, how serious do teams view that knee injury? And how will that translate to draft position?
