To think we have a very real, albeit a sliver of a chance, for the 1OA pick next year even if we make the playoffs. And McKenna's the youngest player in the tournament by nearly a full year. He could be back here next year.
Isnt Mckenna only eligible in 2026?To think we have a very real, albeit a sliver of a chance, for the 1OA pick next year even if we make the playoffs.
yesIsnt Mckenna only eligible in 2026?
I feel bad for Trevor Connolly. He's already got a ton of questions about him heading into the draft, and his 5 minute major in the third period gave the game away to Canada.

Yeah, my bad. If the pick is deferred to 2026, there is no condition on how high it can be, thus even 1OA is possible that year. And there is a sliver of a chance it gets deferred to 2026 and we end up with CGY's unprotected pick.Isnt Mckenna only eligible in 2026?
My take is that his intention was a clean check and Ritchie dropped a bit right before contact was made, If I'm being objective, I think the 5 and a game was too much. But then the refs also made some iffy calls vs us. If you slow this to .25 it's easier to see what happened.Didn’t see it. Was it merited? Or was is Euro Weenie reffing?

yeah he didIn the NHL, it's a 2 minute penalty.
Under IIHF rules, it's an automatic 5 min major & game misconduct. He clearly checked the Canadian player to the head.

He said next year.How?
And flames pick is max second overall
That was a very dangerous move to a defenseless player already engaged in a puck battle.
