There are obviously exceptions but scouting today seems much more "accurate" that it was when Kilger was drafted, especially in the first couple of rounds. Maybe it's because of the use of analytics, and personality tests, etc., and kids generally train better today on and off the ice, but there just don't seem to be as many "busts" anymore in the first 15 picks or so as there were before. And yes, I know we drafted KK and Chucky at no. 3, relatively recently . . . but that was by a different administration that I think went a little more on "gut feeling" than the current one.
