I'd never say "no chance" or "none". Let's remember that Bird was a 20OA pick. Likely many said at the time there's no chance he's the next Doug Harvey. But he wound up in the conversation. I'm just saying he has the same attributes in his game/style. Looks similar when you watch him play.

Yeah, it's insane, right? Like I said above, this kid brings a very similar overall game to the table. Plays on a horrible team, too. IMO we get too protective comparing to legends. Of course there is only one Larry. But there can surely be players that deliver that mix of attributes that he brought. That's all I'm saying. Kid can dangle, skate, has a huge shot from the point and uses deception along with it. And is an absolute crease clearing monster that plays mean and nasty. That's what made me think of Bird. Who I watched since he was a rookie.

I too think we're going forward. I know they really value compete-level, intensity. And Yakemchuk is that personified. Wouldn't mind if they moved up to snag him using the WPG pick. We have a good mix of assets to make something along that line happen.
