2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

Petterson was crap all playoffs. Would've taken. Herculean effort to win yesterday with no Boeser and Petterson playing like a 3rd liner. 1st period ends with 4 min pp and they get only 2 shots going into the 2nd. Plus, for some reason they stopped hitting like they were all playoffs. Oilers aren't getting passed Dallas, no way.

I was 4/4 as well that round, after trying to be too smart in the first round and going 4/8. Overall 8/12 then so far.

I'll take, like some others, Florida over Rangers in 7
Dallas over Edmonton in 6.

Silovs was the reason they got past Nashville, and one could argue is Skinner could make a save in games 1 and 3, the Oilers sweep, so I am not buying the Demko line. I will listen to the Besser stuff but Cannots looked done all night and if not for McLeod letting them back in the game, they would have slept through the 60 minutes

I underestimated Shesterkin and Carolina’s ability to underachieve.

Fair enough, Oilers dominated first 50 minutes and when it came time to clamp down, Canucks didn't get another good chance. Still want them to beat Dallas as an underdog (more for McBoringwhatever/Draisaitl than the Canada factor).

Mitch Melnick made an interesting comment yesterday - two former goalies Don Waddell & Ken Holland have been uninterested in addressing the weakest link on their respective teams… G

Goalies are a pure crapshoot and it wasnt the Canes problem

One year 3rd stringers working at Costco win a cup with Hill or salvage a season with Silvos

And the Vezina winner cant stop a beach ball

You can address it all you want , nobody has a clue what your getting

Fred was the least of their problems

PK and PP , and blue line killed them

This was a team loss with every facet deserving some blame but Fred is the least

Melnick's out to lunch.

Waddell got swindled by Andersen, who is the definition of a regular season goalie. He believed Andersen would be back for the playoffs and he'd be fine. el oh el.

Holland got swindled by Jack Campbell and he's getting paid handsomely to be a minor league goalie. That's going to be a nice buyout a few weeks from now.

They tried. But they both placed their chips on a gimpy horse. There wasn't a ton of goalies available to be acquired, and even then, neither of those teams had capspace to acquire a goalie. And honestly, I don't think there was one available.

Problem is the fucken term handed out to Jack , Korpisalo and others

Fine your desperate for goalies but go 2-3 years so you can buy them out easier , these fools never learn
